Free women on March 9
We women* want to be FREE – and we are taking our FREEDOM!
On March 9, 2026, from 12 noon to 2 p.m., we will gather at Graz’s main square to “do nothing.” We are taking our FREEDOM from paid work, care work, and reproductive work, thereby drawing attention to the importance of women’s* work.
Because we have HAD ENOUGH! ENOUGH! BASTA!
Enough of underpaid, unpaid, and unequally distributed care work! Enough of a patriarchal society! Enough of those who exploit people and nature!
- When? March 9, 2026, 12 noon to 2 p.m.
- Where? Graz main square, in front of City Hall
- What? Dress in the powerful colors red, orange, and purple; bring a seat in these colors and make yourself comfortable; do nothing, chat, discuss, laugh—with snacks, cookies, your girlfriend, mother, sister, or coworker.
Together we are FREE and we take our FREEDOM!
