Bike protest: we never stand still! – Feminist mobility
Our cities are designed to meet the needs of men. Poor lighting, narrow sidewalks, high curbs, few bike lanes but large roads with parking lots as dead space. It is time to change the perspective!
Women move around differently in the city, whether for safety reasons, because of care work or because economic resources are too scarce to afford a second car or a large family vehicle. It is time to rethink urban spaces and roads!
With our bike protest, we want to draw attention to the imbalance in everyday mobility. Feminist mobility is not concerned with prestige or pleasure – instead it is practical, goal-oriented and flexible. It is time for city and road planners to make this possible!
Our bike protest leads to the ENOUGH! rally. We’re looking forward to meet many supportive and activist people there to jointly end our strike day.
