ENOUGH! Women’s strike and film screening
As part of the international initiative ENOUGH!, WOMEN ART WEIMAR, a gallery of female producers, is participating with a public action and a film screening.
4–5 p.m. — Women’s Strike at Theaterplatz Weimar
Women will occupy Theaterplatz wearing purple accessories. Sitting on chairs, they will take an hour for conscious inactivity, thus recalling collective forms of protest and visibility. The strike will be supported by a musical performance from Leipzig musician Ingeborg Freytag.
6 p.m. — Film Screening: “A Day Without Women” at the WAW Gallery
Following the film, we will screen the Icelandic documentary “A Day Without Women,” which traces the origins of the women’s strike in Iceland.
This event is presented in cooperation with the German National Theatre Weimar (DNT).
