The time has come. For a protest as diverse as we are. As visible as the problems are. As a necessary response to the growing global threat to women* at all levels, as an adequate response to the toxic masculinity that is openly and proudly displayed worldwide.
More and more women*, from very different backgrounds and perspectives, in different corners of the world, are focusing their thoughts and energy on a GLOBAL WOMEN* GENERAL STRIKE on MARCH 9, 2026.
ENOUGH!
…of those who seek to rule and divide the world among themselves — their cronies, profiteers, imitators, followers, autocrats, oligarchs, tycoons, moguls.
…of those who trample international law underfoot.
…of heir weapons, chemical, fossil fuel, automotive, and agribusiness industries.
…of their toxic masculinity, inseparable from contempt, disenfranchisement, violence against dissenters, and fantasies of domination over nature.
WHO ARE WE?
We stand on the shoulders and experiences of countless women.
We are a group of women* and a number of men* who have had ENOUGH — enough of endless wars, disasters, violations of international law, human rights abuses, rampant violence, escalating political brutality, and growing poverty.
We have begun reaching out — and continue to do so — to explore what powerful, visible, and unmistakable responses might look like. We want to make THE LARGEST, MOST DIVERSE, AND RESONANT ACTION by women* visible for all to see.
The GLOBAL WOMEN* GENERAL STRIKE is our greatest challenge — and our most powerful answer.
We launched this movement in Berlin and want to carry it forward — together with you — across the world.
…and now, united with well over a hundred women, a dozen men, and supporters in more than a dozen countries who share this vision and with whom we are in regular dialogue.
WHAT IS OUR GOAL?
We are setting a date to create a global chain reaction — a day of echoes across the world.
A NATIONWIDE and a GLOBAL STRIKE — two days where the news, locally and across continents, will reflect the shocking reality of our times. On these days, every regional and national movement will declare their ENOUGH!, each in their own language, with their own signs and rituals, rooted in their experiences and political aims.
On these days, anger and despair transform into political outrage and strength, exhaustion becomes encouragement, and isolation gives way to collective power.
On March 9, 2026, for the GLOBAL WOMEN* GENERAL STRIKE, we are laying down our work.
We will step away — from computers, stoves, dental practices, children, cash registers, classrooms, factories, and care stations — and come together in solidarity, wherever we are.
Our absence will shake national economies and reveal the true value of our labor — from paid jobs to the countless unpaid hours of so-called “care work.”
We declare:

The GLOBAL and GERMAN WOMEN* GENERAL STRIKE is a call to action: It will demand strength, ignite energy, and spark passion.*
There’s no prefabricated blueprint for this rebellion — what we have are the radical histories and untold stories of the women’s movement. The women’s movement has always proven this: WE is not a fixed point, but a living, evolving force. Our unity draws power from gratitude, shared memory, and above all, the courage and determination of women* daring to step forward today.
Now is the moment.
With all of you — your experience and fire, your rage and hope. With your daughters and mothers, neighbors and cousins, friends and, yes, every man who’s done with the status quo — let’s join forces.
ENOUGH! becomes an unstoppable movement only when we, the millions of women* around the globe, listen to each other, build networks that cross borders, organize together, and strategize for real change.
Let’s lift each other up, empower those who feel isolated, and mobilize.
Let’s challenge every structure that diminishes our voices, our labor, and our lives.
