DESCRIPTION:March 8 is Feminist Fight Day.\nWe look back on centuries of feminist struggles against the destructive violence of the patriarchal system—together we take to the streets!\nIn anger\, solidarity\, and tenderness\, we want to come together against isolation and create a place for retreat\, togetherness\, and networking. \nOn Sunday (March 8) and Monday (March 9)\, we will provide food for most of the day; a quiet place to catch your breath before and after the demonstration\, to form alliances\, or to support each other.\nWe look forward to seeing you! \nAccessibility:\nThere are approximately 100m of cobblestone in front of the Zwille.\nThe restrooms are on the ground floor of the opposite building and are accessible by ramp.\nIn the main building (ca. 300m distance) is a wheelchair accessible restroom which can be opened by an Euroschlüssel.\nThere is an approximately 3cm high threshold at the entrance of the Zwille.\nEvery half an hour or so there is a loud noise coming from machines/pipes running trough the building. \n(c) image: Feminist Front

DESCRIPTION:The event and the film serve as motivation and inspiration:\nOn October 24\, 1975\, more than 90 percent of Iceland’s women went on strike. They stopped working in offices\, refused unpaid care work\, and withdrew from cooking and childcare. With this collective action\, women made the invisible visible and demonstrated just how indispensable they are to the functioning of society as a whole. \nFifty years after this historic day\, director Pamela Hogan and contemporary witness Hrafnhildur Gunnarsdóttir bring the voices of many of these courageous women back into the spotlight. They trace the roots of the strike and make clear its lasting impact on feminist struggle\, emancipation\, and the advancement of women’s rights. \nFollowing the screening\, we will be in conversation with Adrienne Goehler about the motivations behind ENOUGH! GENUG!\, her conviction that the status quo is no longer sustainable at any level\, and the global women’s* general strike—along with the many powerful\, creative\, and colorful actions taking place on March 9.\nJoin us.
